Whats happening at the Weindorfer Association

Notice of Annual General Meeting September 25, 2025

Nominations are invited for election to the Committee of Management for the period 2025/2026. Office bearers’ nominations will be accepted till September 14, 2025 (10 days prior to meeting.

Weindorfer Day May 3, 2026 at Wilmot, Tasmania.

We organise an annual festival called “Weindorfer Day” that includes a memorial service, singing,

Talks, celebration of the performing arts, the visual arts, historical exhibition, scientific information,

Indigenous connection, historic guided tours, educational workshops, and cultural events to commemorate the Weindorfers and other pioneers.

We develop and promote educational programs highlighting the history and earth sciences of

Cradle Mountain.

We promote community engagement through volunteering.

We recognise the Indigenous custodians of the area.

We promote awareness campaigns for environmental stewardship, conservation, spiritual

practices that honour being on-country and sustainable practical use of the land.

Weindorfer Short Film Festival 2026!

Entries for the 2026 Weindorfer Short Film Festival festival – will be soon announced.

We encourage, via the medium of film, storytelling that highlights the Tasmania’s Natural Heritage or Cradle Mountain World Heritage  area or the profound influence of  Kate and Gustav Weindorfer and other pioneers or how two people can change the world.

Entries are open to Australian residents and Australian Citizens
